Summary The Tiger scouts participate with their adult partners. The program emphasizes shared leadership, learning about the community, and family understanding.
Tigers is an exciting introduction to the scouting program for first grade boys and girls (or 7 years old) excited to get going! Tigers do stuff - lots of stuff - with their adult partners. This program is intended to open up the world to inquisitive minds along with the caring guidance of adults. The first steps along the Boy Scout Trail are laid here and every rank advancement through the scouting program builds on the basic categories of activity done as Tigers.
This first year in Scouting requires that an adult partner participate with Tigers in all den meetings and activities.
The Tiger works toward earning their Bobcat rank and then their Tiger Rank badge with their den or family. Each Tiger must complete six core Tiger adventures and one of the thirteen Tiger elective adventures to receive the Tiger Rank badge. After completing an adventure each Cub Scout will receive an immediate recognition award in the form of an adventure loop that he or she can wear on their belt. Adventure loops are color coded and specific to each Scouting year. Tiger year adventure loops have orange edges.
After they have earned the Tiger badge, a Tiger Scout can work on the remaining 12 Tiger electives until they finish first grade (or turn 8 years old). They can choose elective adventures that may show them new hobbies and teach them skills that will be useful during their Scout years. When they complete an elective adventure, they receive an additional adventure loop to wear on their belt.
The Tiger Uniform
Your scout should/will be encouraged to wear their uniform appropriately. The shirt should always be tucked in and orderly. They should understand the importance of representing the entire Scouts BSA organization while in uniform.
Required:
- Shirt (Long or Short Sleeve)
- Neckerchief (provided by the Pack)
- Slide (provided by the Pack)
- Belt
The shirt will last through fourth grade - so size it appropriately.

- Scout Pants
- Scout Shorts
- Socks
- Hat
- Red Brag vest
